Get Ready, Get Ready! Saint James’ “Lenten Series 2017,” is less than one month away and promises to be the best series by far. Lent Series 2017 begins on Tuesday night, March 7th at 7:00 PM. The Lenten Consecration Guide will be released this month. Pastor Slaughter is pleading with the Saint James Family to F. O. C. U. S. (Faithful, Obedient, Committed, Unselfish, and Serving) during the Lenten Season. It is imperative that members faithfully attend Lent Worship rather than waiting to watch the experiences online. There is a possibility that the “Lent Series” will not be live streamed. Please plan now to be in worship very Tuesday night during Lent. God deserves those 90 minutes weekly during Lent! Flyers are available in the vestibule area for members that desire to help Saint James spread the word about our "Lent Series 2017."
Pastor Slaughter would like to thank everyone for the congratulatory expressions sent to him in honor of him be inducted into the Turner Seminary Alumni Hall of Fame and being elected the chair of Saint Michael's Medical Center Board. Your thoughtfulness makes life worth the living and the journey of serving people and community a wonderful journey.
The first year of Saint James "Dirt to Destiny" Capital Campaign, ended on January 31, 2017. The Campaign experienced phenomenal success. Saint James was able to raise 95% of its first- year capital campaign goal. Year Two has officially started. Pastor Slaughter is strongly encouraging all members to make a pledge for the 2017 capital campaign. If you can pledge $5, $10, $15, $20 a week or per month, it will help the capital campaign tremendously. If you need a pledge card, please look in the back of your pew, contact the church office or complete the form online at www.experiencesaintjames.com. If you made a pledge in 2016 and desire to continue with that pledge, there is no need to fill out another pledge card. If you desire to increase the amount you gave in 2016, please fill out another pledge card and turn it in during any offering moment. When making contributions to the capital campaign, please write it on your envelope or on the designated line of your envelope. Remember Acts 5:39. We believe God!
