Morning Hymn: Time Is Filled with Swift Transition

 Weekly Announcements

On next Sunday, Saint James will celebrate its 177th Church Anniversary during all three worship experiences. To celebrate this historic moment, everyone is asked to wear their Sunday best attire and to be on time for the processional at 7:30 AM and 11:00 AM. Let's make this the best anniversary in our church's history. The Lord has done marvelous things at Saint James!

In honor of Saint James 177th Church Anniversary, Pastor Slaughter is asking for 500 members to give $100.00 to renovate our historic sanctuary. The renovation will include the changing of the carpet and pew cushions. Every member that contributes $100.00 toward this project, will have the opportunity to either write their name, a prayer, a favorite scripture, or honor their loved one on the floor of the sanctuary before the carpet is installed over it. This is more than likely the final project for our historic sanctuary. This is also an opportunity for the Saint James Family to practice what we will do when our new facility is built. When making contributions for this project, please write in the “other” section of the envelope “Church Renovation” and the amount to ensure your name and contribution is correctly noted.  Joshua 4:21-24 (NIV).

Attention: During the month of August, Pastor Slaughter will be unavailable for appointments. Pastor Slaughter is humbly requesting the prayers and patience of every member of Saint James as he takes time to draft the first forty pages of his Doctoral Dissertation. Three years ago, Pastor Slaughter shared with the church, that a time would come when he would have to step away from appointments in order to write, research, read, and study. Thus far, Pastor has taken very little time off during his three years of study. The time has come for Pastor Slaughter to lock himself in a library. However, Pastor Slaughter does intend to teach and preach on Wednesdays and Sundays during the month of August. Thank you in advance for your understanding. Please whisper a prayer for Pastor Slaughter.

The first year of Saint James "Dirt to Destiny" Capital Campaign, ended on January 31, 2017. The Campaign experienced phenomenal success. Saint James was able to raise 95% of its first- year capital campaign goal. Year Two has officially started. Pastor Slaughter is strongly encouraging all members to make a pledge for the 2017 capital campaign. If you can pledge $5, $10, $15, $20 a week or per month, it will help the capital campaign tremendously. If you need a pledge card, please look in the back of your pew, contact the church office or complete the form online at www.experiencesaintjames.com. If you made a pledge in 2016 and desire to continue with that pledge, there is no need to fill out another pledge card. If you desire to increase the amount you gave in 2016, please fill out another pledge card and turn it in during any offering moment. When making contributions to the capital campaign, please write it on your envelope or on the designated line of your envelope. Remember Acts 5:39. We believe God!
