Ministry Highlights:

It’s time to celebrate 7 years of Marriage between Pastor and People.  Saint James will celebrate the 7th Pastoral Anniversary of Pastor Ronald L. Slaughter and the First Family, June 6-10, 2018. The “7th Pastoral Anniversary Committee” has planned an exciting weekend that every member of the Saint James Family can participate in. This celebration is an opportunity for the Saint James Family to show our Pastor and First Family, how much we really love and appreciate them. Anniversary Love Offering envelopes are available in your mailers if you receive tithing envelopes in the mail. You may also use a pew envelope and designate “Pastor’s Anniversary” on the envelope. Anniversary flyers and Volunteer Forms (to sign up to assist) are located in both vestibule areas and outside the church’s main office. Please contact Sis. Alison Nettles at 973-622-1344, Ext. 124 or email her at This email address is being protected from spambots. Pastor Slaughter, Mrs. Slaughter, and the First Family would like to sincerely thank the Saint James Family for the outpouring of love, well wishes, and generosity extended to Pastor Slaughter upon the conferring of his Doctoral Degree from Wesley Theological Seminary at the Washington National Cathedral in Washington, DC.  They would also like to thank everyone who participated in the graduation reception on Wednesday, May 9, 2018. Your support last week and over the past three years made the doctoral journey an experience of a lifetime. You are truly the greatest people on the planet!

Saint James is a great place to be on Tuesday nights. Women’s Bible Study convenes at 6:30 PM and Prayer Meeting (led by Pastor Slaughter) begins at 7:30 PM. The Prayer Meeting focus this Tuesday is on “Agape Love.” Make Saint James your destination on Tuesdays!

Pastor Slaughter would like to thank the choir, ushers, and the  Saint James Family for joining him in Revival at St. John’s Baptist Church last week, May 23-25, 2018. You are the greatest people on the planet!

Did you know that you could text your tithe or offering to Saint James? Take advantage of Saint James’ “Text to Give,” by texting your contribution to: 973-878-0759. In the message section, type the amount you would like to give. For example: $100.00 and then hit send. This makes giving simple, secure, and convenient. Remember, the Lord loves a cheerful giver.

The Saint James "Dirt to Destiny" (D2D) Capital Campaign is approaching the end of its second year. Through the Capital Campaign, Saint James has been able to purchase the necessary property/land needed for construction without obtaining a loan. The campaign will also provide a tremendous boost in the pre-development cost associated with the vision. Pastor Slaughter is strongly encouraging all members to make a pledge in 2018 toward the capital campaign. If you can pledge $5, $10, $15, $20 a week or per month, it will help the capital campaign tremendously. If you need a pledge card, please look   in the back of your pew, contact the church office or complete the form online by logging onto When making contributions to the capital campaign, please write it on your envelope or on the designated line of your envelope. Remember Acts 5:39. We believe God!
