Congregational Hymn:  Where He May Lead Me

 Ministry Highlights:

Today, Saint James celebrates the Baptism of members of our family who have made a commitment to give their life to Christ and to follow Jesus for the very first time.

Saint James Fall Explosion 2017 is almost here. Plan now to be a part of Saint James Fall Revival, this Wednesday, September 20-21, 2017. On Wednesday, September 20th, Bishop Rudolph McKissick, Jr. of Jacksonville, Florida will preach our Noon Worship and 7:00 PM experience. On Thursday, September 21st at 7:00 PM, Dr. Freddy Haynes of Dallas, Texas will be our Explosion preacher. Pastor Slaughter is asking every member to sow $10 (minimum) for each Fall Explosion experience. That's a total of $30. Please use the envelopes that were mailed home when giving or write “Fall Explosion” on a pew envelope. Start praying NOW for a powerful Fall Explosion 2017 and share a flyer with a friend!

Saint James will celebrate its "Family and Friends Sunday 2017," on next Sunday, September 24, 2017, during all three worship experiences. Following the 11:00 AM worship experience, the annual "Block Party," will be on Shipman Street. Bracelets for the Block Party are on sale today for $3.00. Bracelets purchased on next Sunday will cost $5.00. Pastor Slaughter encourages all members of the Saint James Family to invite their family, friends, co-workers and neighbors to worship next Sunday. Don't forget to wear your favorite team Jersey next Sunday for our Block Party and Worship Experiences.

Saint James AME Church’s Healthcare Ministry needs your support. Consider saving a life by donating blood on Sunday, September 24, 2017 from 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM at the mobile donation unit on-site. Thank you.

Pastor and Mrs. Slaughter would like to express their genuine thanks to the Saint James Family for the love shown to them in celebration of their 14th Wedding Anniversary, this past Wednesday, September 13, 2017.

The first year of Saint James "Dirt to Destiny" Capital Campaign, ended on January 31, 2017. The Campaign experienced phenomenal success. Saint James was able to raise 95% of its first- year capital campaign goal. Year Two has officially started. Pastor Slaughter is strongly encouraging all members to make a pledge for the 2017 capital campaign. If you can pledge $5, $10, $15, $20 a week or per month, it will help the capital campaign tremendously. If you need a pledge card, please look in the back of your pew, contact the church office or complete the form online at If you made a pledge in 2016 and desire to continue with that pledge, there is no need to fill out another pledge card. If you desire to increase the amount you gave in 2016, please fill out another pledge card and turn it in during any offering moment. When making contributions to the capital campaign, please write it on your envelope or on the designated line of your envelope. Remember Acts 5:39. We believe God!

Praise Moves (5:30 PM), Women’s Bible Study (6:30 PM) and Prayer Meeting (7:30 PM) occurs every Tuesday at Saint James. The book can be purchased on Amazon for $10 if you desire to follow along during bible study. Books will not be made available by the Ministry, but can be purchased on your own. The Prayer Meeting will focus on Educators and Students (through college) for the remainder of the month.
