Ministry Highlights:

Sunday is Media Ministry Day! For the last 35 years, your Media Ministry has served the Saint James Family faithfully by providing sound/video in the sanctuary and over the internet worldwide, as well as producing CD and DVD recordings of worship experiences, Bible studies, and special events. To replace and update defective and aging audio/video equipment, we need your support. Special offering envelopes are available from the ushers, back of pews and on the side sanctuary walls to encourage your generosity. Log onto to give online or text your contribution to:973-878-0759, earmarking it for the Media Ministry. Thank you in advance for your much needed financial support.

Get Ready, Get Ready: Saint James “Lenten Worship Series 2019,” promises to be one of the best series thus far. On this Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at 12:00 Noon, we will celebrate Ash Wednesday which marks the beginning of the Lent Season. Lent Worship Series 2019 begins next Tuesday night, March 12th at 7:00 PM. Pastor Slaughter is pleading with the Saint James Family to go “All In,” during the Lenten Season. It is imperative that members faithfully attend Lent Worship rather than watching the experiences online. There is a possibility that some Lent worship experiences will not be live streamed. Please plan now to be in worship every Tuesday night during Lent. God deserves those 75 minutes weekly during Lent! Flyers are available in the vestibule area for members that desire to help Saint James spread the word about our "Lent Worship Series 2019." Every member of the Saint James Family/Village is expected to sow $20 for each worship experience. Remember, God Loves a cheerful giver!

Quarterly Mass Baptism and Rededication Sunday is scheduled for Sunday, March 17, 2019, during the 11:00 AM worship experience.  All candidates for Baptism must complete one orientation session.  The sessions are offered today, March 3, 2019, or next Sunday, March 10, 2019, in the Upper Dining Room after the 11:00 AM worship experience. If you have any questions, please contact our Baptism Coordinator, Sis. Barbara Carter at Ext. 116.

Please join Pastor Slaughter this Thursday, March 7, 2019, at 7:00 PM at New Hope Memorial Baptist Church (91 Division Street in Elizabeth). The Ushers and Praise Team have been asked to serve.

Please join Pastor Slaughter next Friday, March 15, 2019, at 7:00 PM at Greater Friendship Baptist Church International Ministries (84 Custer Avenue in Newark). The Ushers and Praise Team have been asked to serve.

Did you know that you could text your tithe or offering to Saint James? Take advantage of Saint James’ “Text to Give,” by texting your contribution to: 973-878-0759. In the message section, type the amount you would like to give. For example: $100.00 and then hit send. This makes giving simple, secure, and convenient. Remember, the Lord loves a cheerful giver.

The Saint James "Dirt to Destiny" (D2D) Capital Campaign is approaching the end of its third year. Through the Capital Campaign, Saint James has been able to purchase the necessary property/land needed for construction without obtaining a loan. The campaign will also provide a tremendous boost in the pre-development cost associated with the vision. Pastor Slaughter is strongly encouraging all members to make a pledge in 2018 toward the capital campaign. If you can pledge $5, $10, $15, $20 a week or per month, it will help the capital campaign tremendously. If you need a pledge card, please look in the back of your pew, contact the church office, or complete the form online by logging When making contributions to the capital campaign, please write it on your envelope or on the designated line of your envelope. Remember Acts 5:39. We believe God!
